It might have been luck. It might have been the boat, a Duckworth 235 Navigator. It could have been the secret spot on the Columbia River which they had to secure at 4AM. Fact is, it was teamwork. The crew of Alex Brauer, Jerry Spiess, Trey Carskadon, Shy Masters and Dave Haukeli have gone from a rag-tag bunch of anglers to a well-oiled machine. Taking their second 1st place finish in as many years at the 2015 NSIA Spring Fishing Classic, and placing on the podium 4 or the last 6 years, it all comes down to hard work on the water. Rods are rigged to precision. Baits are changed religiously every 20 minutes. When a rod goes off everyone knows their tasks; clear the deck, toss the anchor, get the net and stay out of the way (or Jerry will toss you overboard.) Thank you Duckworth for the finest fishing machine on the water!

Thanks to Duckworth dealer, Precision Marine, in Idaho Falls, ID, we had the opportunity to take a few Ultra Magnums up a remote river to one of the most picturesque spots anywhere in the world. This waterfall is real, and even more stunning than the photos can capture. Any guesses where it might be? You’d need a Duckworth with an inboard jet to get there. Give up? It’s the South Fork of the Salmon River in Northeast Idaho. The falls are named Fall Creek Falls
Gentlemen… we all know it’s a common misperception among the ladies that a Duckworth boat is purely a fishing boat. Certainly, it excels at sportfishing, but there are so many other exciting ways to use your Duckworth. If you’re thinking about a new boat, and the wife and kids are pushing you towards one of those fiberglass models (that lose their value before you drive off the lot,) we made this video for you. Click the link below and “conveniently” leave it displayed on your computer for your wife to intercept. Or better yet, view it with the music turned up loud and ask the kids to gather-round to view the internet’s fastest-trending new video. In no time, they’ll be on board. And, you’ll be on your way to getting the Duckworth boat of your dreams. (You can thank us later.)
We snuck out one last time to capture photos for the 2014 brochure. The chances of finding good weather in Oregon, in November, where this shot was taken, has about the same odds as catching a salmon on the Mississippi River. However, this time we got lucky. This is a Duckworth Navigator 215 SE. The “SE” package is a very nicely equipped set of accessories and features that dials the boat in for multipurpose use.
Cliff Spediacci, owner of Hook & Ladder Guide Service, was pretty excited last month when the boat of his dreams finally arrived. Cliff will now be guiding the central California region in a new Duckworth 235 Pacific Navigator. For the lakes and rivers he fishes, there is not better platform for angling. His customers will no doubt be in ultimate comfort, and knowing Cliff’s expertise for catching salmon, trout, stripers and Mackinaw, his fish box is going to be full more often than not.
The Duckworth Offshore has been setting the ocean’s waters on fire recently. Here’s a great haul of halibut and salmon from a proud customer in Alaska. Good eats!
