Ernie Duckworth started building aluminum boats nearly 40 years ago with the goal of producing the best boat that floats. It’s pretty simple, really. Take a proven design and continue to improve on it, at the same time pay attention to the details. That’s what we do on a daily basis. We can honestly say that because we’ve hired the industry’s best boat builders. With our 10 most senior employees having over 165 years combined boat building experience they help lead a crew that is as passionate about building boats as you are running them. Which is why, when all is said and done, we’re happy to deliver you the best boat that floats.

Here are a few of our leaders:

Gary Pomerinke, Master Boat Builder Gary started welding his first Duckworth hull back in Ernie Duckworth’s shop in 1980, and he’s been at it ever since. One of our most talented hull designers, teachers, and expert welders – Gary has been doing it right for the last 28 years with Duckworth.

Daniel “Wick” Wickersham, Production Coordinator
He has been crafting Duckworth boats for the last 25 years – working directly on over 2,500 Duckworths in every aspect of manufacturing and design. A lifelong musician, Wick applies his quiet creativity and dedication to inspiring the Duckworth production team, with a focus on continuous improvement, quality, safety, and teamwork.

Dale Dyer, Welding Shop Manager
With over 17 years of boat building experience our welding shop is in Dale’s capable hands. In addition to having served in the Navy, Dale comes from a boat building family (his mother is Pat in the Top Shop). Dale developed and taught a welding certification program through a local college for our employees.

Chris Blasko, Lead Painter & Quality Assurance and Testing
Chris has been directing the painting for our company for over 15 years. He keeps his skills sharp by attending regular training and certification classes through PPG to learn about the latest materials and techniques. With an expert eye for quality, color, and detail we have the right person leading our painting efforts. Chris has the final say for quality when it leaves here after the on-the-water testing and final quality checks.
