This is how it all started. Watch this classic Duckworth video created in the early 1980′s by founder Ernie Duckworth and his wife and son. At the time, this was state-of-the-art production, shot on 8mm film and edited together with tape and a razor blade.

Team Duckworth OTC Tuna Tournament

Team Duckworth produced solid results in the second leg of the Oregon Tuna Classic in Ilwaco, Washington on August 6th, and donated their 5 largest tuna to the impressive pile of more than 5300 pounds headed for local food banks.

Success on the Duckworth 28' offshore

While not in the money, the Duckworth team boated 24 tuna pre-fishing the day prior and 16 more on tournament day.

Lots of tuna. No ducks.

“It was a great weekend in Ilwaco where fishermen were pleasantly surprised to find calm seas,” said OTC Chairman, Del Stevens. “Saturday morning 53 teams showed up at roll call and had the pleasure of running two days back to back on a nice ocean. The bite was sketchy at times and the size of the fish really varied. One moment you would be landing peanuts and the next it was pigs.”

Downtown Salmon

Filming completed in May for a new episode of the Joy of Fishing TV series.

The first episode was filmed on the Willamette River in downtown Portland. Spring Chinook were the target and they cooperated fully. At least 11 fish we’re caught on camera during the day and half of fishing, several with Portland’s skyscrapers in the background.

The Joy of Fishing airs Sunday mornings at 9:30 on Root Sports, formally Fox Sports NW.
